The Devoted Woman's Letter

Mr. Hassan Aref , a soldier in the Jordanian army sent a letter to his brother-in-law,Mr. Ahmad Shihadeh from Beit Anan,Jerusalem Dinstrict during the Jordanian regime in 1960 asking him to honor the agreement between them not to allow his sister,who was Ahmad's wife to work as a peddler,i.e. vegetable seller in the Old City of Jerusalem but his sister , Ahmad's wife rejected and continued to work in order to support her family.It is worthwhile noting that vgetable peddlers always come to sell their products in the Old City of Jerusalem .According to Ahmad's wife, Jordanians never gave women peddlers any fines while men were.
